Membership Levels
There are four membership levels in the SkyMiles program: base, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Your membership level is determined by the number of Elite Qualifying Miles you accumulate within a calendar year. Once you earn enough Elite Qualifying Miles to upgrade to the next level, your account is automatically upgraded.

Earning and Redeeming Miles
Earning and redeeming miles is easy with Northwest Airlines, our SkyTeam® Global Alliance Partners, and other SkyMiles Airline Partners. Through our airline partnerships, SkyMiles members can earn and redeem miles virtually anywhere in the world. The SkyMiles program offers additional earning opportunities with our Mileage Partners including car, hotel, online retail and other partners.

Staying Informed
With monthly Mileage Summary and Weekly Deals & News e-mails, SkyMiles members stay up-to-date on the program and are the first to hear about special offers and Bonus Miles earning opportunities.
