1. What is a Northwest Electronic Credit Voucher (ECV)?
A Northwest Electronic Credit Voucher is a credit value or amount that is stored in an electronic database in our computer system. Depending on the type of Electronic Credit Voucher that a customer has received, it may be valid for one of the following items: a specific dollar value toward the purchase of an airline ticket (or) a free ticket (or) WorldPerks Bonus Miles.
2. Should I keep the Electronic Credit Voucher receipt that I received from Northwest?
Yes, please keep the Electronic Credit Voucher receipt you received from Northwest. It has important information on it including the 13-digit Electronic Credit Voucher document number that must be used when redeeming your voucher.
3. How can I redeem my Electronic Credit Voucher towards purchase of a ticket?
You can redeem your voucher on nwa.com or by phone with Northwest Airlines Reservations.
4. Can I view my Electronic Credit Voucher online at nwa.com?
Yes, you may view Electronic Credit Voucher information online. You must log in with your WorldPerks number and PIN to view this information on nwa.com.
5. What if I am not a WorldPerks member? Can I still receive an Electronic Credit Voucher?
If you are not a WorldPerks member, an Electronic Credit Voucher may still be issued to you but it cannot be viewed online at nwa.com
6. I am a WorldPerks member, but I am not able to view my Electronic Credit Voucher online. Why is that?
When your Electronic Credit Voucher was issued, it may not have been stored under your WorldPerks account number. You may view these ECV's after logging in with your WorldPerks account number, last name, and PIN. Once logged in you will need to click on the link to view ECV's not associated to your WorldPerks account number. If you are unable to view your voucher on nwa.com contact Northwest Airlines Reservations for information on your document.
7. How do I redeem my Electronic Credit Voucher for WorldPerks Bonus Miles?
If your Electronic Credit Voucher (ECV) allows the option of being redeemed for WorldPerks Bonus Miles, you may request Bonus Miles by completing a request form. To access the form you must login and view your ECV. WorldPerks Bonus Miles will be credited to your account within two-three business days.
8. I have a paper Transportation Credit Voucher that I received previously from Northwest. Can I turn that in for an Electronic Credit Voucher?
Paper Transportation Credit Vouchers may not be converted to an Electronic Credit Voucher.
9. Can I redeem a paper Transportation Credit Voucher on nwa.com?
Paper Transportation Credit Vouchers may only be redeemed through Northwest Airlines Reservations.
10. How long is an Electronic Credit Voucher valid?
Electronic Credit Vouchers redeemable for travel are valid for travel commencing within one year of the ECV issue date. Travel must be completed within one year of ECV redemption date or within the validity of the applicable fare rule used, whichever is most restrictive.
Electronic Credit Vouchers redeemable for WorldPerks Bonus Miles are valid for one year from ECV issue date.
11. Are Electronic or Paper Credit Vouchers refundable?
No, credit vouchers are non-refundable.
12. Is there a residual value if I don't use the entire Electronic Credit Voucher?
Electronic Credit Vouchers that were issued for service-related events (such as delayed flights or denied boarding compensation) will retain any residual value if the entire voucher is not used. Electronic Credit Vouchers issued for a fare reduction do not have any residual value if the entire voucher is not used.
After expiration period of one year, whether or not an ECV has been used in part, it will have no residual value.
13. I have several Electronic Credit Vouchers. Can I combine them to purchase one ticket?
Electronic Credit Vouchers that were issued for service-related events (such as delayed flights or denied boarding compensation) may not be combined with each other. However, an Electronic Credit Voucher issued for a service-related event may be combined with a voucher that was issued for a reduction in fare, or 2 vouchers issued for a fare reduction may be combined with each other. To apply more than one voucher toward a ticket, please contact Northwest Airlines Reservations.
14. Can I give my Electronic Credit Voucher to someone else to use?
Electronic Credit Vouchers are non-transferable. However, someone else may use one of your Electronic Credit Vouchers as long as that person is booked in the same reservation as you, the recipient of the Electronic Credit Voucher.
Please note, an Electronic Credit Voucher may only be entered once per reservation and cannot be applied toward the purchase of more than one ticket within a reservation.
15. What if I lose my Electronic Credit Voucher document number? Can Northwest locate my Electronic Credit Voucher number for me?
You may contact Northwest Airlines and request a search for your ECV document number. Northwest will make every effort to locate your ECV number. However, Northwest cannot guarantee that it can locate misplaced ECV document numbers.
You should always retain your Electronic Credit Voucher number for future use.
16. Why is Northwest issuing Electronic Credit Vouchers?
Northwest Electronic Credit Vouchers are easier to use than a paper credit voucher. There is no need to mail in an Electronic Credit Voucher. A customer can redeem an Electronic Credit Voucher on nwa.com or contact Northwest Airlines Reservations without having to mail a document to Northwest.
