1. What is SkyTeam?

The SkyTeam Global Alliance is a partnership among 11 airlines: Aeroflot, Aeromexico, Air France, Alitalia, China Southern, Continental Airlines, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air and Northwest and three associate airlines: Air Europa, Copa Airlines and Kenya Airways. These 14 airlines cooperate in several areas, working together to make your travel experience seamless and convenient across all thirteen carriers.

2. How will SkyTeam benefit me as a SkyMiles member?

SkyMiles members can now earn and redeem SkyMiles miles on all 14 airlines throughout the SkyTeam network. You now have more travel options, with the schedules and destinations of twelve additional airlines serving all your travel needs - for business or pleasure! Elite Qualifying Miles can be earned on all SkyTeam partners. 3. How will the SkyTeam partners recognize my frequent flyer membership?

The SkyTeam partners maintain and operate separate frequent flyer programs. The SkyTeam Global Alliance has created SkyTeam Elite tiers, so that all SkyTeam carriers can easily recognize Elite frequent fliers - and deliver the appropriate benefits to those who've earned and deserve them.

4. If I'm a SkyMiles Base member, will SkyTeam benefit me?

Yes! You are a SkyTeam Frequent Flyer. You have the ability to earn and redeem SkyMiles miles across all ten SkyTeam carriers - putting more awards within your reach. You can earn your award travel faster and easier by using just one frequent flyer program worldwide. Plus, earn SkyMiles Medallion Qualifying Miles on any SkyTeam partner, making the rewarding SkyMiles Medallion membership easier than ever to attain!

5. If I'm a SkyMiles Medallion member, does that mean I'm an Elite member in SkyTeam?

Yes! SkyMiles Medallion members will automatically belong to one of the two Elite tiers within SkyTeam. This SkyTeam Elite membership entitles you to special recognition and benefits when flying on our SkyTeam partners.

9. As a SkyMiles member, will my benefits change when I fly on Northwest?

No. The SkyMiles program and all program and Elite benefits will be unchanged on all Northwest-operated flights.

Elite upgrades continue to be limited to Northwest Elites, Continental Elites and Air France/KLM Flying Blue Elites, on Northwest-operated flights. (Flying Blue Elites residing in the U.S. or Mexico are not eligible for Elite upgrades.)
