NWA CARGO ANNOUNCES INCREASES IN FUEL SURCHARGES
 
Eagan, MN - (May 6, 2008) - As a result of the continuing rapid increase in the price of jet fuel, NWA Cargo will raise its fuel surcharge in certain markets effective May 15, 2008, subject to government approvals where required.
 
International fuel surcharges will be increased from $1.05 to $1.10 per kilogram.
 
Additionally, westbound trans-Pacific shipments from the U.S. to Shanghai (PVG), Guangzhou (CAN), and points beyond will now be subject to a $0.30 per kilogram fuel surcharge above current all-in base rates.
 
Other surcharge details including local currency equivalents and shipper built unit charges may be obtained from local NWA Cargo sales offices or at http://www.nwa.com/services/shipping/cargo/surcharge.shtml.
 
 
NWA CARGO ADDS U.S. CUSTOMS IMPORT STATUS TO CARGO PORTAL SERVICES

EAGAN, Minn. - (April 30, 2008) - NWA Cargo has launched a View Customs Status feature on the Cargo Portal Services (CPS) booking engine that gives customers 24/7 access to various customs related processes and information.

The new Customs Status function allows customers to:

  • Complete the customs clearance process without waiting for the NWA paperwork
  • Check if shipments have cleared customs
  • Find the in transit (in-bond) movement number, port of arrival, and split information without delay or need to call a NWA representative

CPS users can access the Customs Status feature on the CPS homepage (www.cargoportalservices.com) by selecting View Customs Status from the Manage Shipments drop-down menu.

NWA CARGO ANNOUNCES INCREASES IN FUEL SURCHARGES

EAGAN, Minn. - (March 19, 2008) - As a result of continuing increases in fuel prices, NWA Cargo will raise its fuel surcharge in certain markets effective April 1, 2008, subject to government approvals where required.

International fuel surcharges, excluding traffic originating in Japan, will be increased from $0.85 to $0.95 per kilogram.

Additionally, westbound trans-Pacific shipments from the U.S. to Shanghai (PVG), Guangzhou (CAN), and points beyond will now be subject to a $0.15 per kilogram fuel surcharge above current all-in base rates.

Domestic fuel surcharges will be raised from $0.34 to $0.38 per pound.
