Purchasing a Gift Certificate

1. How can I purchase Northwest Airlines Gift Certicates?

Northwest Airlines Gift Certificates can be purchased at www.nwa.com or by calling Northwest Reservations at 1-800-225-2525.

2. How long are gift certificates valid?

Gift Certificates issued prior to Aug 1 2007 must be redeemed or refunded within one year from date of issue. Gift certificates issued on or after Aug. 1 2007 have no expiration date.

3. What is the price range of gift certificates?

Gift certificates can be purchased in any whole U.S. Dollar amount between $50 and $500. For example, $100, $125, $451, etc. They cannot be purchased for amounts such as $100.20, $55.60, etc.

4. Can I purchase a gift certificate with a credit card billing address outside the U.S.?

No. Only credit cards with a U.S. billing address can be accepted for gift certificate purchases.

5. Can I personalize a gift certificate with a special message?

You can specify the name of the recipient, the name of the sender and a message (maximum of 100 characters). Personalization is only available for gift certificates purchased at nwa.com.

6. How long will I have to wait after I purchase gift certificates until I receive them?

Gift certificates purchased at nwa.com can be printed at the time of purchase or e-mailed to whomever you wish. The e-mail will be delivered within 24 hours after purchase.

Redeeming a Gift Certificate

7. Can I use my gift certificate to purchase a ticket for travel to any destination?

Gift certificates can be used to purchase tickets for travel to any Northwest or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines destination.

8. Where can I redeem my gift certificate?

Gift certificates may be redeemed at nwa.com, NW Reservations (1-800-225-2525) or Delta Vacations^� (1-800-800-1504). With Delta Vacations they may only be applied to the air portion of an air and land package.

9. What information will I need from my gift certificate in order to redeem it?

You will need to provide the gift certificate number and the redemption code. This information can be found on the face of your gift certificate.

10. Can I combine multiple gift certificates to purchase a single ticket?

Yes, but only by calling our Northwest Reservations at 800-225-2525. This option is not available at nwa.com.

11. What if the value of my gift certificate is more than the price of the ticket I want to purchase?

The Gift Certificate has a declining balance. If your Gift Certificate has value remaining after you have purchased your ticket, retain the Gift Certificate number and redemption code for continued use.

12. What if the value of my gift certificate is less than the price of the ticket I want to
purchase?

The value of your gift certificate will be deducted from the price of the ticket. You will need to provide a credit card number at the time of purchase.

13. What if I can't use my gift certificate?

Gift certificates are transferable so you may gift it to someone else. You may also request a refund, however the refund will go to the original form of payment.

14. Can I get a refund for an unused gift certificate?

You may request a refund, however the refund will go the original form of payment.

15. What if I lost my gift certificate or it was stolen?

Unfortunately, gift certificates will not be replaced for any reason, including if they are lost or stolen.

16. How do I remove the white background that appears on the printed gift certificate?

You will need to enable background printing within your web browser's print options.
