Customer Reminders

Here are a few reminders to help keep your travel moving smoothly:

  • Arrive at the airport early.
Allow 75 minutes for check-in for domestic flights and 120 minutes for international flights.  (Recommended times subject to change to accommodate Department of Homeland Security requirements.)

  • Label your luggage.
We recommend you have completed nametags both on the outside and inside of your checked luggage.

  • Check your larger pieces of luggage.
You can carry one piece of luggage (plus a small item such as a purse, briefcase or laptop) on board, which must pass Northwest's "sizing box" test.

  • Carry proper identification and travel documents.
You will need a boarding pass to get past the Security Checkpoint. You will also need a government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license, and for international travel, your passport and possibly other documents, such as a visa.

  • Be at your departure gate on time.
Boarding begins between 30 to 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, depending on the size and destination of the aircraft. Customers must be on board the aircraft at least 15 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights, and 30 minutes prior to departure on international flights.
