Weather Waiver for Hurricane Wilma

Northwest Airlines has issued a weather waiver to assist customers whose travel plans may be impacted by Hurricane Wilma. This waiver applies to passengers with confirmed tickets issued on/before October 19, 2005 for travel October 19 through October 25, 2005* to, from or through the following cities:

  • Florida
    • Fort Lauderdale (FLL)*
    • Fort Myers (RSW)
    • Key West (EYW)
    • Miami (MIA)*
    • Orlando (MCO)
    • Sarasota (SRQ)
    • Tampa (TPA) 
    • West Palm Beach (PBI)*

*Exception: waiver applies for passengers with ticketed travel to, from or through West Palm Beach October 19 through October 28, 2005 and Fort Lauderdale or Miami passengers October 19 through October 31, 2005.

Passengers may reschedule their travel to be completed on or before November 12, 2005 to/from the same origin and destination without penalty or administrative change fees, subject to availability.

Passengers with a return travel date after November 12, 2005 from the cities listed above may retain their original date of travel. 

Northwest will provide a refund if requested by the passenger and the flight does not operate.

Passengers requesting changes outside the guidelines listed above are subject to the reissue rules of the fare. This includes any additional collection of administrative fees.       

Self-service rebooking is available. E-Ticket customers are encouraged to reschedule their trip under these weather waiver guidelines using nwa.com's View/Change Reservation services. All passengers should check flight and gate status prior to leaving for the airport.
