10. When I went to check our flights today, I see that the times of our flights have changed. Why did this change occur without notification to me? Is there anything I need to do?

When a schedule change occurs we contact passengers based on their date of departure. If your travel is for a date in the future, you are likely to have not been contacted yet. If you have noticed a change in your reservation, we ask that you please contact Northwest Airlines Reservations. They will be able to assist you with the details of the change and helping you with reviewing other possible flight options, if you chose.

11. There was schedule change in my reservation. Due to other travel plans, I won't be able to make this new time. What do I need to do?

If there has been a change to your reservation and you are unable to accept the new the times, please contact Northwest Airlines Reservations. They will be able to assist you with finding other possible flights or explaining your other options to you.

12. How many miles will I need to confirm a Mileage Upgrade?

View the appropriate Award Chart for Mileage Upgrade requirements for your specific trip. You must have enough available miles in your account to complete a Mileage Upgrade. Please note, when making your Mileage Upgrade reservation on nwa.com, you may receive fares that are a combination of Economy and First or World Business Class.

13. Why did the fare change at purchase time?

nwa.com Reservations uses a real-time reservation database, the same used by travel agents worldwide, listing actual ticket prices and availability. As airlines fill flights or change fares, the database immediately reflects those changes. Always be sure to double-check prices when reserving or purchasing tickets, as the fare may have changed since you first searched for fares or created your itinerary.

14. I have seen a better flight price advertised elsewhere. Why don't I get that price using nwa.com Reservations?

nwa.com Reservations shows you only those flights that have seats available. The fare advertised may apply to only a few seats and those seats may have already been sold.

15. Why does my itinerary say there are seats available, but when I go to reserve them it says that none are available?

nwa.com Reservations uses a real-time reservation database, the same used by travel agents worldwide. Availability can change between the time an itinerary is created and a ticket is reserved or purchased. Tickets are constantly being sold around the world, so a flight can be fully sold out within minutes after your search.

16. How come not all segments are upgraded in my Mileage Upgrade flight search?

If upgrades are not available, nwa.com Reservations will return non-upgraded fares. It is possible, if upgrades are not available for your whole itinerary, only a portion of the itinerary will be upgraded. You will be charged mileage for each leg of your journey that contains an upgraded segment. Please check the cabin class carefully before proceeding with your purchase.

17. Can I make a reservation for someone other than myself using my WorldPerks miles on nwa.com?

Yes. You can book a ticket for another person when using your WorldPerks miles.

18. Can I make an online WorldPerks Award Travel Reservation on any Northwest-designated affiliate partner airlines?

Award Travel Reservations can be made for flights on Northwest Airlines, its Airlink Partners, Mesaba, and Pinnacle Airlines, Alaska Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Air France and Aeromexico and Japan Airlines.

19. Why aren’t there any PerkSaverSM Award flights available for my proposed itinerary?

PerkSaver Awards offer you a savings on award travel prices, but are limited and subject to availability and restrictions. If you have flexibility in your travel plans, we encourage you to try searching by different travel dates or designations. You may use the Award Calendar to review the flight availability on a monthly basis, or try PerkPassSM Awards which allow you to bypass the restrictions associated with PerkSaver Awards. Although the PerkPass option requires a higher number of miles, you will find greater seat availability.

We also encourage our customers to make reservations as far in advance as possible. Please be aware that travel to prime destinations during peak periods may require the PerkPass option to secure seats.

20. How do I find out if I have enough miles to book a WorldPerks Award Travel Reservation?

You may check your Mileage Balance for available banked miles in your account, then view the appropriate Award Chart for mileage requirements. You must have enough available miles in your account to complete an Award Travel Reservation. nwa.com Award Travel Reservations will also advise you of the number of miles that are required for your itinerary and the number of miles that will be deducted from your account when you choose to purchase online. Please note when making your Award Travel Reservation on nwa.com you may receive fares that are a combination between PerkSaver and PerkPass Awards and/or different classes of service.

21. Is my credit card number safe?

nwa.com Reservations uses the Secure Sockets Layer and Private Communication Technology security standards that are supported by Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or later and other popular browsers. SSL encodes your personal information (such as your PIN, address, phone number, or your credit card number) so that it is available only to you and the nwa.com Reservations agent who will help make sure your travel planning goes smoothly. This encryption makes doing business over the Internet as secure as making a purchase by telephone.

22. Why doesn't nwa.com Reservations accept my credit card?

This may occur because the credit card link may be down, or your credit card company was not able to authorize the purchase under the credit card number provided. Please ensure your credit card information was entered correctly, and if you have further question about your credit card, please contact your credit card company to check the status of your account.
