Ticketing Options

  • SkyMiles award tickets to most destinations may be issued as a Northwest Airlines® E-TicketSM (Electronic Ticket), a simple and convenient way to travel. When an award E-Ticket is generated, a Trip Summary and Receipt (TSR) will be delivered to the address on file or via e-mail, showing the miles deducted and the award travel itinerary.
  • Members may book award travel online at nwa.com/asia or through a Northwest Agent. nwa.com/asia offers members an array of award travel search tools to make booking an award easy, and no Direct Ticketing Charge applies to award travel booked entirely online.
  • PerkSaverSM Awards are limited and subject to seat availability. Increased availability is offered through the PerkPassSM pricing option.
  • Award tickets (including upgrades) cannot be issued in any countries in Central and South America, the South Pacific, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent or elsewhere in the Atlantic region. Travel agencies cannot issue award tickets or upgrades.
  • Award tickets issued by a Northwest Reservations agent, Northwest ticketing office or at a Northwest airport location will be subject to a Direct Ticketing Charge of $20 USD. The Direct Ticketing Charge does not apply to award travel booked entirely through nwa.com/asia. Not all award travel can be booked on nwa.com/asia. The Direct Ticketing Charge will apply to any tickets which must be processed by an agent except award tickets that are not offered at nwa.com/asia. SkyMiles Platinum/Gold Elite members are exempt from award ticketing fees.
  • You are responsible for paying all applicable taxes and fees (including Customs, inspection, immigration, security, agriculture, facility and departure/arrival charges, any administrative fee, and the September 11th U.S. Security Fee of up to $10 USD roundtrip) and obtaining necessary travel documents for award travel.
  • Fuel, insurance surcharges and other fees may be collected by some Partner Airlines at check-in.
