• The Freedom of PerkPassSM (formerly known as RuleBusterSM) Award Levels
  PerkPass allows you to travel spontaneously by giving you access to greater seat availability. The PerkPass option requires a higher number of miles than the PerkSaverSM (formerly known as Standard) option and is available on all Northwest-, Delta-, Continental-, and KLM-operated flights with a Northwest (NW) code or KLM operated/KLM designated flights between Asia and Europe.
  
  
• The Savings of PerkSaver Award Levels
  PerkSaver award levels let you travel for the lowest number of miles by observing capacity controls that limit the number of seats available. As a result, you may not be able to use PerkSaver awards on some flights, even if these flights are not completely sold out. Travel to prime destinations and during peak periods may require the PerkPass option.
  
  
• Mix and Match Award Levels
  The SkyMiles flexible award system lets you maximize the use of your miles. You can choose a different travel option for each direction of travel. For example, if there are no PerkSaver award seats available on one of your travel dates, you can use your miles at a PerkPass level and save miles by using the PerkSaver level in the other direction. The same applies for the season or class of service in which you travel. This flexible system will average the two mileage levels you use for your outbound and return.
  
  
• Upgrade to BusinessElite^® or First Class using miles:
  Purchase a qualifying Coach fare, and redeem miles for one-way or roundtrip upgrades to BusinessElite or First Class. Mileage may be redeemed for one-class upgrades from full fares or select fares, when traveling on Northwest, Delta, KLM and Continental flights.
